enrolment, registration & fees:

An online enrolment form must be completed before a student participates in class.

Trial classes are offered to new students. Trial class are charged at the price of one dance class and must be paid upon arrival.

An annual non-refundable registration fee of $35.00 is charged to each student and is due at the second class.

Fees are charged in 4 week blocks; dependent upon term length (e.g. if a term is 10 weeks long there will 2× 4 week charges and then 1× 2 week charge. Fees must be paid prior to or upon arrival at class. Payments can be made via cash, card (tap-and-go) or online banking. Online bank payments must be referenced with the child’s name and dates of classes. A 15% discount applied families with more than one child at FUSE and/or students participating in more than one dance class per week. Families may prefer to pay per term and can this prior to the term’s first class and upon discussion with the company or class teacher.

A non-refundable performance fee is charged during Term 2 and Term 4 each year. Costumes are provided for all performances throughout the year. The performance fee covers hire of 3-5 costumes across the dance year and includes a medallion at each showcase. Students are expected to provide comes simple items such as their own underwear, socks, dance shoes, tights, leotard, make-up and hair accessories. Performance fees can vary between $30.00 - $60.00. Parents and families are invited to help with simple sewing tasks. Costumes will not be will not handed out if this fee is not paid.

absent from class:

Families are required to contact the company (phone, text, or email) if their child will be absent from dance class. Students may book a makeup class depending upon class availability. Makeup lessons must be booked and participated in within the same calendar year. No credit is given on fees for absenteeism.

We ask that all parents please use their best judgment when it comes to sending a sick child to class. Please keep home students who have vomited, had a fever or gastro-like symptoms in the last 24 hours.

public holidays:

There are no dance classes on Public Holidays.

uniform:

All students at FUSE are required to wear appropriate and safe dance attire at class. Please see our uniform page for more information. Please speak to your child’s teacher to confirm shoe requirements. Some students may also require foot undies depending upon routines being taught.

Students with inappropriate clothing (jeans or restrictive garments) will not be allowed to participate in class. Hair must be always pulled back off the face. Please have all clothing named. Staff at FUSE Dance are not responsible for lost property. Teachers and assistant reserve the right to ask students to sit out if they are not wearing the appropriate attire.

timetable:
At FUSE, we aim to keep a consistent timetable each year. Sometimes unforeseen circumstances may cause slight changes to the timetable. Families will be notified of any changes at the earliest moment possible. Classes require a minimum of eight students before commencing. If a class is closed, students will be offered an alternative class.

attendance:

We understand that children participate in many sporting activities during the week and can have many different social, educational, and family commitments. Sometimes these commitments clash with dance classes We expect full commitment to dance classes and extra rehearsals organised. Important dates are communicated via our newsletters, social media, emails and text messages. If there is a clash, we ask that families notify the company at their earliest convenience to discuss.

audiences:

Parents and friends are not permitted to sit and watch classes during the term. For our younger and beginning students the class teacher may permit a one/two-week transitional period. This will be an individual choice made by each class teacher. If students have friends or family visiting and would like them to watch in class, the teacher will need to be notified and consulted before the beginning of class.

dance festivals, competitions and other performances:

Throughout the year your child may be selected to represent FUSE Dance in local dance festivals, school fairs or competitions. Participation in these events will incur a $10- $20 fee per performance.

insurance:

Students are expected to be covered by their own insurance. Dance is a physical activity and whilst all reasonable care is taken to the extent permitted by law “FUSE Dance” is not liable for injuries sustained during classes, instructions, performance activities or otherwise. In the case of an injury or health concern in respect of your child, all reasonable efforts will be made to contact you promptly. But, in the case of an emergency, or in the event that you cannot be reached, “FUSE Dance” will seek medical attention for the student. By signing the enrolment form you agree to indemnify “FUSE Dance” for any costs incurred in obtaining such emergency medical attention, for example ambulance fees.

photos & videos:

By signing the enrolment form, you give full permission to “FUSE Dance”, to use photo or video images of your child for promotional purposes of the company only. This may include social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. Photos and Video images will not be used for any other purpose. If you do not wish for your child to be photographed or used in advertising, please indicate on the enrolment form.

child safety:

FUSE Dance is committed to child safety. Classes are centralised with the concept that all children/students should feel safe, happy, supported, and respected. We have a zero tolerance of child abuse. All staff hold a current Work with Children’s Check and Level 2 First Aid Training. All staff will participate in regular internal and have access to external professional development to remain up to date with recommended policies and procedures.
